Drawing, Writing, Coding and Animating 

I can’t remember a time in my life when I wasn’t desperate for a challenge to work towards defeating, or a project to design and play with. I’ve never been very good at doing nothing, and for that reason, all my hobbies are things I can improve exponentially at. I love to learn, so in my free time I write - either alone or as part of a group, practice drawing skills, educate myself in how to code, and sketch out animations.
I’ve also been taking some independent math, science and engineering courses in the last few months.

Gaming

If gaming wasn’t in this section, I probably wouldn’t be applying in the first place! I adore the experience of playing a game, whether it’s the first time or the hundredth, and I have a rather eclectic taste in genres and titles. I especially enjoy games with deep lore and well-written story and characters, as well as various horror titles. I’ve always wanted to create experiences for people that mirror my favourite memories of playing games as a child and young adult.

Collecting Dolls, Figurines and Plush Toys 

Perhaps as an extension of my interest in the experience of play and creativity, I’ve always had a bit of a habit of collecting toys. I use them for artistic inspiration a lot of the time, but they also help me stay in the mindset of creating and voicing characters. I’d really like to design a line of toys to compliment a game someday, since I always loved buying collectable figurines of characters from my favourite games as a kid.

Cosplay and Theatre (Costuming, Make-up, Music, Acting)

Despite my school’s aversion to running a decent drama club, I’m definitely a theatre kid. I love every aspect of the performing arts - from dressing up for Comic Con to learning scripts and songs until I say them in my sleep.  I equally adore films, but there’s something special to me about the interactivity of theatre. I also really enjoy the ability to do some costume design when it comes to creating cosplays.
